When a club has been included in a competition that is run by a regional association outside of their primary hierarchy, an additional player registration form for the 'secondary hierarchy' is added to your club. This additional form is used for managing registrations of players being added into the 'secondary' competition. Players can have registrations on both forms as well as ExtraTeam registrations when included in multiple teams or competitions in each hierarchy.
This article covers how to manage the registrations for each hierarchy as well as any ExtraTeam registrations.

Why Does My Club Have the Same Player Registration Form Multiple Times?
When your club has been included in a competition that is run by a regional association outside of your primary hierarchy, an additional player registration form for the 'secondary hierarchy' is added to your club. This additional form is used for managing registrations of players being added into competitions in the 'secondary hierarchy'.
If your club is added to additional competitions in a different hierarchy, a player registration form for each of those hierarchies will also be added.
Which Forms Do Players Need to Register To?
Important: Players only need to register once!
Players should only register to their primary player form - once that is done, the secondary registrations are automatically managed in TeamBuilder as admins drag & drop players into any teams across any of their competitions for the same sport.
If a player is taking part in one of the competitions in the 'secondary hierarchy', the club admin simply needs to:
- Open the competition in TeamBuilder
- Change the player form selection to their primary form (where the player has registered)
- Drag the player into their team in the competition
What this does:
- When the player is dragged into the 'secondary' team, a player registration is automatically created for the player on the 'secondary' player registration form. This is then managed in TeamBuilder the same way as any other registration and can be moved between teams or added to multiple teams to create an ExtraTeam registration.
- If the 'secondary' form includes any additional questions that are marked as Required, a modal will open with the registration form to let complete the required questions.
Note: the player can only be added to the team in the 'secondary hierarchy' competition once their primary registration has an active status. The process and requirements to activate a registration can vary between sports.
What Is an ExtraTeam Registration?
An ExtraTeam registration is created when a person has multiple registrations on the same form - this happens when they are involved in more than one team or competition for the same sport.
Why does this happen? This system helps track each participant’s teams and competitions separately to ensure accurate registrations, eligibility, and compliance with sport-specific rules.

Why Are ExtraTeam Registrations Used?
ExtraTeam registrations solve several practical problems:
- They allow a single person to be placed in multiple teams, even when those teams belong to competitions run by different organisations
- Each registration is specific for each competition and organisation - this is important when competitions have different requirements or forms
- They prevent confusion about a person’s current eligibility and participation
Viewing and Managing ExtraTeam Registrations
- You can see all of a person’s registrations in Sporty, including their ExtraTeam records. Registrations are listed in TeamBuilder, Online Registrations, and SuperCRM.
- ExtraTeam registrations are displayed with their current status so administrators know which teams and competitions a person is valid for. In TeamBuilder and Online registrations, ExtraTeam registrations will be displayed in Italics.
-
For Football - Player Passports will only display one record per club that a player has registrations at. Having registrations on multiple 'secondary hierarchy' forms or ExtraTeam status registrations won't cause additional rows to be added to the Player Passport.
