This support article is for Football Referees scoring a game using the MyFootball Manager app.
When a game is being scored by a Team Scorer, they are able to enter the Game Events or enter the final score for the game.
The Referee does not have visibility of Game Event submissions submitted by the Team Scorer and must submit a full summary of the Game Events.
The Referee’s submission is treated as final and will override any submissions entered by the club Team Scorer, including substitutions made (if substitutions were submitted by a Referee). Note: Only one Referee should submit score through the app.
To get started, the log into the MyFootball Manager app and navigate to the game you want to score.
Next, tap Score Game.
Select ‘Score Game Live’.
Note: It's important for Referees to select 'Score Game Live' instead of ‘Enter Final Score’, otherwise you will not be able to enter the game events (i.e. a Goal, Penalty, Red/Yellow card etc).
Click Start. You must click Start before you will be able to enter any game events.
As a Referee, you will almost always be entering the Game Events after the game has been played, unlike the Team Scorer who may score the game live, as it is being played.
Add Game Events
To add any Game Event such as a Goal, Penalty, Red/Yellow card etc., click +Event.
Referees should enter all Game Events (including Goals) by clicking the +Event button. This is because it allows you to record the time the game event happened - the GOAL button is for those scoring the game live.
Any score submission made by the Referee will override those submitted by the team.
Next, select whether the event is Points, a Card, a Regular Substitution or a Concussion Substitution.
Then, select which Half the event took place, what Time the event occurred, any Stoppage Time that is applicable, and which Person the event relates to.
To finish, click Submit.
The example below shows how to select the specific time of a game event.
Repeat this process to record each Game Event.
Disciplinary Cases
To assign a red or yellow card to against a player, click into POINTS OR CARD, then select Red Card or Yellow Card. Your chosen option will populate on the Events display, select a reason for why the card was given from the list of options provided. Click Submit to save.
When a Referee (the 1st Referee) lodges a red or yellow card against a player or team official, a reason as to why the card was given must be selected. Once the match is over, a disciplinary case will be created in Sporty associated to the card events that were lodged in the App by the Referee.
For more information on disciplinary cases, see this article here.
The event will then display in the timeline of the game.
Concussion Substitutions
If you register a CONCUSSION SUB OFF game event, when your result is submitted, a Concussion Report will be raised against the nominated player, which will automatically suspend the player from team selection for 14 days. This concussion suspension can only be edited or removed by the Competition Administrator.
Submitting the score
Once all Game Events have been recorded, select Stop / Pause. Then select Full Time (submit score).
The game will then be ‘locked’ and the final score with all game events will display. Who the score was submitted by and when will display along the bottom on the screen.
