Naming playoff sections
By default, section names within a playoff will be named Preliminary Finals, Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Finals.
When competitions require different section names in playoff draws e.g. repechage or a trophy name, users can modify these with the edit pencil so that they are accordingly named and communicated with end-users on competition widgets and draw exports.
Re-arranging playoff icons
When the phase is created, the competition builder will display placeholder Icons in the most likely combination of fixtures. For example, if there is more than one pool in the contributing phase, SKED will arrange the icons with the pools crossing over in the playoff phase.
The draw can be modified by dragging and dropping the placeholder icons into positions that align with the competition format.
• If some teams do not progress to the playoff phase, these can be dragged into the unallocated section.
• If the top teams progress straight to the Semi Finals or Finals, they can be given a bye in the Semi or Quarter Final by only having one placeholder icon displayed against the fixture. SKED will automatically progress the bye team to the next stage of the competition. The bye games do not need to be published/made visible to the public.
If additional fixtures are required in order to support the competition format, the + button can be used to create another fixture. This action will automatically create winner and loser placeholder icons that can be used in the next stage of the competition as well (E.g. WQF9/LQF9).
The venue for playoff fixtures in a home and away competition should be assigned to unallocated until the teams are known. The fixture can then be moved to the appropriate home venue by using the drag and drop feature in the venue view. For more information refer to Venue view.
