A crossover phase is often seen in tournaments, and is a phase used when you want teams from one pool to play against teams from another pool in the same grade. Teams are placed into new pools based on their results from the first Round Robin phase and complete a final Round Robin within their new pool to determine their progression into the Playoff phase.
To create a Crossover Phase
1. Select + Add Phase
2. Add phase name (required)
3. Select Crossover from the list of phase types
4. Choose the phase it is linked to
5. Add dates
6. Select Add
The crossover phase is created with the same number of sections as the contributing phase. The sections are named in reverse alphabetical order by default, but can be renamed as required e.g., Top 4, Middle 4 and Bottom 4.
Placeholder icons are populated in each section to represent teams from the contributing phase, according to their final position in the standings table. Icons can be moved around by dragging and dropping into the unallocated area or into a different section to align with your competition format.
Proceed to create the draw as you would a normal Round Robin phase by clicking +Add to Calendar to generate a recommended draw.
When the contributing phase results are entered, and standings are finalised the team that finished in that respective position in the standings table will automatically appear in the draw in that placeholder position.
