TeamBuilder is easy to use on your mobile device. This article includes:
Logging in
1. Navigate to your Sporty site (e.g. www.sporty.co.nz/applesports) then scroll to the bottom and click Admin Login. Enter your login credentials to proceed.
2. Go to the Dashboard then click the TeamBuilder tile.
Depending on the sport, you will see one of two views when TeamBuilder opens.
View one: Competitions
View two: Player registration
Once you click into a specific competition (e.g. Competition: Pre season competitive) or database (Football NZ Registration), depending the sport TeamBuilder appears as shown below.
The top view displays the Teams when a specific grade has been selected, and the bottom view displays the People who have completed the registration form.
Please note that people do not register to a specific competition (if in view one), they register to one registration form (e.g. Netball Registration 2024) therefore regardless of the competition selected, all displayed people will remain the same.
Mobile Functionality
To change how much of screen is taken up by the Teams or People view, click the drag-handle in the middle with the grey bay. Drag this up or down to change the ratio.
To change the grade which is displaying teams, click the Select Grade drop-down.
To change the database where people are being pulled through from, click the [Form Name 202X] drop-down.
To filter the displayed results on the People view, click the filter icon, or the search for specific records tap the Keyword Search field and enter a search.
Click the arrow beside a persons name to view their details. From here you can update the player details by clicking the magnifying glass, or delete their record by clicking the red trash can. Clicking the trash can will present you with a confirmation modal to ensure that you are definitely wanting to complete the action of deleting this registration from the database.
When viewing a team, you have options to also manage it when you select the hamburger icon on the bottom right corner. When this is selected, you will be presented with a list of options which are demonstrated below.
Entering Teams
3. TeamBuilder will open displaying one of two views.
View one: Competitions displayed that are set by your centre/association to enter a team(s) against.
View two: The player registration form to enter a team(s) against.
a) View one - Competitions
1. If your association or centre sets up competitions for your club to enter you will see this view. Click the specific competition that you want to enter a team into.
2. Select the grade you want to enter a team into by clicking the Select Grade drop-down, then selecting the specific grade from the list of options visible.
3. If the grade you selected has teams already entered, these will appear in this view, if not, your view will be much like the below image. Click + Add Team to open the Team Entry form for the competition for you to enter the team details into. Click Submit to enter your team.
4. Once the team has been submitted, and you click Done you will be returned to TeamBuilder. When you select the grade that you entered a team against, the team will appear in the top half of the screen as displayed below.
b) View two - Player registration form
1. Click into the database, then select from the Select Grade drop-down select the grade you want to enter a team into.
2. Click +Add Team which will open an onscreen modal.
3. Enter the Team name into the space provided, and review the selected grade. Click Add Team to create the team.
3. TeamBuilder will then reload automatically and display the new team in the top half of the screen.
Moving People into Teams
Moving people into teams is the same process regardless of the type of view you started with (view one or view two).
1. Select the person, or people from the list of people displayed on the bottom view by ticking the checkbox beside their name.
2. Click Move X People to Team.
3. A modal will appear on screen for you to select where you want to move the players you've selected to. Once you've entered the Grade and Team, click Move.
4. TeamBuilder will automatically reload. You will notice that the players in the People view are no longer appearing, this is because they are now found under the In a team tab.
Please note that the team circle can appear in 3 different colours.
a) Grey: no players in the team currently.
b) Green: players are in the team and all players checks have been completed.
c) Red: players are in the team but there are requirements to be met.
3. Click the team to view the team details, or to manage in it.
4. The team modal will open and displays all players that are currently in the team. From here you can view player details, add new members, update roles and access, retrieve the scorer code for game day scorers, or click the hamburger menu on the bottom right corner to open up many other options that have been discussed in the section above: Mobile Functionality.
