For an event to be sanctioned by Speedway NZ, an Event Permit Application must be completed and approved. All relevant information will be loaded to the Event Permit Application: name of event, type of event, date of event, classes etc. This information will be used to automatically add the event to the Speedway NZ calendar and create Event Entry forms.
Creating an Event
Click the Event Management tile in the Dashboard.
Click the Add Event button.
This will open a blank Event Permit Application. Upon completion of the Event Permit Application, an event will be created under the calendar and an event folder is created in the event management system.
Permit Application
The Permit Application will have all information required for Speedway NZ to approve an event. This information will also be used to create an event entry form and populate the events calendar.
Organiser Details
The Club, Name, and Email Address fields will be automatically populated using the details associated with your login account.
Event Type
- Event Type - the type of event, used to filter the calendar e.g. Allocated Title, Meeting, Club Day, Practice, Training, Non-Speedway Activity.
Event Details
- Event Name - try to give the event a unique name to identify it for searching i.e. Meeanees Fearless Females 2025/2026.
- Event Description - this detail will display in the calendar article and registration form.
- Event Website - this will be used if an event website has been created for the event or if you are taking entries outside of sporty e.g. Raceday.
- Event logo - this will display on the event calendar article.
- We will use Sporty to take event entries - setting to Yes will display the Enter and Volunteer buttons on the calendar once the Event Permit has been approved by Speedway NZ.
Event Dates
- Event Entry Open Date - the date the event entries will open. Before this date, applicants can only register their interest.
- Event Entry Open Time - the time the event entries will open.
- Event Entry Close Date - the date the event entries will close.
- Event Entry Close Time - the time the event entries will close.
- Racing Start Date - the date the event is being held. If this is a 2 day event, this will be the 1st day.
- Racing Start Time - the time the event will be starting.
- Racing End Date - if the event is a 2 day meeting, the 2nd nights date will be added here.
- Rain Out Date - if event has a rain out date.
Note: all date fields are unable to be entered before today's date and end date cannot be before the start date. An error message will appear if attempting to submit an incorrect date.
Once Approved
Once the event has been approved, access to edit some off the fields will be blocked for the event organiser. These can still be edited from the Speedway NZ level.
