In addition to the three standard person types (discussed in our CRM Profiles support article), Youthtown profiles have access to four custom Person Types. These each are assigned a priority value as shown below; Bad Debtor being the highest priority, with WINZ being the lowest.
- Bad Debtor
- Managing Debts
- Oranga Tamariki
- WINZ
As with standard person types, these can be manually set by an administrator from the persons' CRM profile. However, they can also be automatically assigned when the person makes a payment on one of their registrations.

If a registrant makes an Oranga Tamariki deposit or a WINZ deposit, this will automatically set (or update) their person type to their corresponding value.
Please note: Person Types cannot be automatically updated to a lower priority value. This requires an administrator to change these personally from the CRM profile. For example...
- An individual set to Oranga Tamariki cannot have their Person Type automatically updated to WINZ.
- An individual set to WINZ can have their Person Type automatically updated to Oranga Tamariki.
- An individual set to Managing Debts (or Bad Debtor) cannot have their Person Type automatically updated at all.
Bad Debtor restrictions
If an individual has fallen too far behind on payments and been marked as a Bad Debtor, they will no longer be able to register for new events with Youthtown. Attempts to do so will notify the registrant that they are ineligible to register and to contact the Youthtown Office. The only way for this to be lifted will be to have a Youthtown Official manually change the Person Type from Bad Debtor to a lower priority type.
