To add a background image to your site, click on Site Settings at the top of the page and choose Background.
Select either a preset library wallpaper by ticking either:
- Wallpaper Library - The Wallpaper Library contains a selection of freely available stock images for you to apply on your site without attribution
- Colour - This allows you to apply a block colour to your site background
- Image Gallery - This allows you to access the library of images you have uploaded to your site
Add an Image as your background:
- Tick the Wallpaper Library checkbox
- Here you can select from images that you have uploaded, or upload one from your computer. To upload an image, you can drag & drop one into the window, or click on Upload an Image to navigate to one on your computer
- Once your image is uploaded, click on it to select it. It will change the site's background to the selected image. You can upload more images to choose from if you like. When you are done, click Save
Set and change the Website Pages overlay:
The overlay is the page (transparent white by default) that overlays the website pages background. All of your content will then be placed on the overlay. This is useful if you have a bright or busy image as your background and it is making your text hard to read.
To set and change the Website Pages overlay:
- Click on Site Settings at the top of the page
- Click on Background
- Click on the Overlay tab
- Under Website Pages, you can choose whether you would like a white or black overlay by selecting the corresponding button
- Alter the transparency of the overlay by using the transparency slider
- When you are done, click Save
Set and change the System Pages overlay:
This overlay setting is the page (transparent white by default) that overlays the Gallery, News Articles and Forms backgrounds. All of your content will then be placed on the overlay. This can be set independently of the overlay used (or not used) on the rest of your website's pages.
To set and change the System Pages overlay:
- Click on Site Settings at the top of the page
- Click on Background
- Click on the Overlay tab
- Under System Pages, you can choose whether you would like a white or black overlay by selecting the corresponding button
- Alter the transparency of the overlay by using the transparency slider
- When you are done, click Save
In this example, having set the Systems Pages overlay to 90% above, this applies a heavier overlay to the site form which, when displayed, is easier to read against the busy website background:
