The ‘Exercise Performance & Prevention' widget provides tailored exercise and training programmes directly to their players. This tool is designed to help support player development, maintain fitness, assist recovery from injury, and encourage healthy activity in line with Football NZ guidelines.

Getting Started
Exercises and Programmes need to be set up before they can be displayed in the widget.
Follow these steps to get started:
- Click Manage Websites from the Dashboard
- Click Site Settings
- Click Performance & Prevention
Exercise Setup
Click an existing exercise in the list or click Add Exercise to create a new one.
Note: check on the Show Archived checkbox when searching for archived exercises.
Enter a name for the exercise, select the Muscle Group, and enter any Coaching Cues.
These options can be edited by clicking Edit Details after the exercise has been created.
Click Save
The exercise will be created and can now be set up with images and links to any external media (e.g. a YouTube video) for each relevant age band.
Click Choose File and select an image showing the Front and Side view of the exercise
Enter the YouTube URL for the video of the exercise
Click Save Media
Note: media is required to be set up for the 'Default' age band but can also be set up for: 8-13, 14-19, and 20+. The media set for each age band will determine what is shown to people after they select their details on the widget.
Exercises can be archived by clicking the Archive button. This will hide the exercise from the list when adding exercises to a programmes but will not remove the exercise from existing programmes.
Programme Setup
Click on the Programmes tab
Click an existing programme in the list or click New Programme to create a new one.
Note: check on the Show Archived checkbox when searching for archived programmes.
Fill out the following details for the programme:
- Name
- Focus Area
- Gender
- Week period
- Equipment
Click + Add Exercise
Select an exercise to add to the programme
Repeat to add as many exercises as required.
You can remove exercises from the programme by clicking the red X button that is in line with it.
Set the required minimum and maximum number of each exercise type that need to be completed for the programme.
New programmes are created as a draft and can be saved as a draft. Once they are ready, click Publish to make the programme available in the widget.
Programmes can also be archived by clicking the Archive button. Archiving a published programme will also unpublish it at the same time.
You can also create a copy of an existing programme by clicking Copy.
Programme Matrix
The Matrix tab shows which combinations (Focus Area, Gender, Week Period, Equipment) have a published programme. A ✓ icon indicates that a programme has been published for that combination. A — icon indicates that a programme has not yet been published for that combination.
Clicking a ✓ icon will open the related programme that has been published. Clicking a — icon will open a page to create a new programme that relates to the combination that you selected in the matrix.
