Click the Venue View icon in either SKED Comp Builder or Draws & Results to see your game fixtures in the venue view. This view provides a calendar format, where game fixtures are visually displayed against your venues at their game times. Common colours are used to visually distinguish game fixtures that are in the same grade. Fixtures from other phases and competitions belonging to your organisation will appear as grey icons labelled with fixture details.
The venue view will only display venues in use on the date selected. Additional venues can be selected and applied to display.
Unallocated fixtures
Any fixtures that were set as Unallocated when you created your draw will appear across the top row, in the Unallocated area. Simply drag these fixtures down from the Unallocated row to a spare venue and this will automatically update your draw. Fixtures belonging to another phase or competition can also be dragged to a venue.
To move a game fixture to a different time or venue, set your filter options to be less than 12 hours, then simply drag & drop the fixture. This will automatically update the Schedule view and your draw.
If a venue has a blackout applied to it, this will appear blacked out in your venue view. Fixtures from other competitions or phases belonging to you will appear with visible details and can be dragged and dropped to another venue or time. Fixtures that belong to another organisation sharing one of your venues can not be moved from your venue view. These will appear as grey icons to provide a visual reference that the venue is unavailable at that time.
Watch out for:
1. When moving fixtures SKED allows you to have two fixtures on the same venue at the same time. This is used to display two half-sized fixtures that may share the same venue. It is also useful when temporarily rearranging fixtures, but care should be taken to avoid leaving two full-sized fixtures on the same venue at the same time.
2. SKED will not prevent you dragging a full-sized fixture onto venue that is smaller than full size venue (for example, putting a senior game that requires a full-sized field onto a half-sized field intended for junior games). Please take care not to manually drag full-sized fixtures onto small-sized venues. Moving fixtures in the venue view will NOT change the home/away allocations for a team.
Small sized games
Often junior grades will play games on a smaller sized venue. For example, two junior games may only require half of a venue, so both games can be played at the same time on a single full-size venue. SKED facilitates this by assigning more than one fixture to the same venue or alternatively allowing more than one game to be dragged onto the same venue in the venue view. Fixtures played on less than a full-size venue will automatically have a label assigned to the venue to indicate what portion of the venue the fixture will be played on e.g., HP14a or HP14b. If a fixture is using the entire venue e.g., If it is a half-sized fixture assigned to a half-size venue, then it will not inherit a label.
Clash validation
Clashes are highlighted in the venue view by a red outline to the fixture. A clash will be identified if:
a) The venue is already in use by another competition or phase, or in the case of a shared venue, by another organisation.
b) If the fixture you are assigning is too large for the venue to accommodate e.g., a full-sized fixture has been placed on a half size venue or a full sized fixture has been placed on a full size venue when it is already partially in use by another fixture.
c) If the game duration that is set in phase settings of the fixture exceeds the length of time the venue is available before the next assigned fixture commences.
Note: A clash identified in the venue view will still update the draw and allow the draw to be published on the website. It is a warning mechanism to allow you to make changes to the draw if necessary.
Printing the Venue View
The venue view can be printed by selecting Export PDF and then select the print icon. Using time filters will allow more information to display on fixture icons.
